Camelot Open Garden – Historic First Opening
Starting Friday, 11 April 2025, and for the first time, Camelot opens its gates to the public, offering a rare opportunity to explore one of Victoria’s most magnificent private gardens.
This botanical treasure, previously inaccessible to visitors, features an extraordinary collection of plants and designed spaces that showcase both horticultural excellence and artistic vision.
Wander among ancient Australian gum trees standing alongside a majestic grove of giant Sequoias, creating a unique blend of native and international botanical heritage. With over 500 species of rare and exotic plants throughout the grounds, Camelot presents a living museum of botanical diversity. April visitors will be treated to spectacular autumn foliage as the landscape transforms into a canvas of crimson, gold, and amber.
At the heart of Camelot lies its contemporary 100-million-litre lake, masterfully designed by renowned landscape architect Paul Bangay just three years ago.
This stunning waterscape now hosts Pacific Black Ducks and rainbow trout in a thriving ecosystem that perfectly complements the surrounding gardens.
The property holds historical significance as a place that once inspired famous Australian artists Frederick McCubbin and Arthur Streeton, whose artistic legacy lives on in the timeless landscapes of Camelot.
Visitors can enhance their experience with exclusive offerings including estate-bred daffodil bulbs, (suitable for garden or pot planting) and exquisite floral arrangements from a special Mount Macedon Florist pop-up shop.
Discover tranquil meditation spaces, hidden garden rooms, and breathtaking vistas throughout this meticulously maintained estate. Each turn reveals new botanical wonders and peaceful retreats within this previously private paradise.
Limited tickets are available for this historic first opening. Don’t miss this extraordinary opportunity to be among the first public visitors to experience the enchantment of Camelot.
Refreshments and Toilets are available. Photography encouraged.
