All campers have access to Hanging Rock Reserve until 5:00pm Sunday.
Tent campers can bring their cars back into the camping area from 8:30am Sunday morning, and will need to have their allocated site packed up by 10:00am and relocate their car into the main car park.

Can we camp next to our friends?
Yes, you can certainly request it and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. Just make sure you advise us when booking – there’s a section when you can do this.

Do you have to book for the Ranger-guided sunset tour?
So we can provide the best experience, yes, you will need to let us know if you’re joining the tour when you make your Campout booking. We may be able to take some last minute bookings on the day, but it will be subject to availability.

How long and difficult is the Ranger-guided sunset tour?
It’s a 1.8km hike that will take around 60-75 minutes return. The trail is Grade 3, so it is suitable for most ages and fitness levels, has some steep sections, rough surfaces and steps.

No you don’t, just bring your chair, bean bag or rug and grab your spot.

Is the sunset tour and open-air cinema free?
Yes, they’re both free and included in your admission price.

Can I just come for the movie and then go home?
Unfortunately not, the open-air cinema is only for guests participating in the Campout.

Are the nights usually cold at Hanging Rock?
Even though it’s summer, nights can still be cold at Hanging Rock – we are 600m above sea level after all. Make sure you’re prepared just in case.

Can I move freely in and out of the Reserve?
Once you’ve checked in, we’d prefer you to stay in unless it’s absolutely necessary. If you do need to leave the park, please contact our Duty Ranger on 0418 373 032 to make arrangements.

Can I have a campfire?
No, fires are not permitted within Hanging Rock Reserve.

 Can I bring my dog?
No, dogs are not permitted
