Moving through the Macedon Ranges is like moving through a series of postcards. Explore a region made up of lush forests, granite-strewn pastoral landscapes and spectacular scenery.
Be drawn to the scenic parks that are dotted throughout the Macedon Ranges and the cool, relatively undisturbed forests where you may even get a glimpse some of the admired furry creatures that can only be seen in Australia.
The Macedon Ranges is also known for its abundance of beautiful public and private gardens. Some of the region’s best are open to the public during Spring and Autumn, giving you a chance to experience stunning garden design in an explosion of colour. Others are open to the public during the entire year but for the icing on the cake, the annual Garden Lovers Plant Fair in September is another opportunity green-thumbs will not want to miss.
Kyneton, Malmsbury and Gisborne all have botanic gardens that are open to the public seven days a week.
