Pub to Pub 2026

When we started the Pub to Pub, it was just a simple idea to connect two towns, two pubs, and a stretch of trail through the Macedon Ranges. It has since grown into something that the local community has really taken ownership of, and it’s become a bit of a highlight for the region at the end of a long winter.

The event runs between Lancefield and Romsey along the Federation Trail, a car-free rail trail that cuts through some of the most beautiful countryside in the area. It’s not about times or pressure. It’s just about getting out there, setting yourself a goal, and moving at your own pace, whether that’s walking, jogging, or running.

Now heading into its third year, the event keeps growing. What started local has started to pull people in from Melbourne and further afield, but it still very much feels like a community day out.

There are a few options on the day. The Junior Bolt (1.5km) is for the kids aged 3 to 12, giving them their own moment on the trail. The 7.5km Pub to Pub runs one way from Romsey to Lancefield. And the 15km Pub to Pub to Pub takes you out and back between both towns for those wanting a bit more of a challenge.

What stands out most though is the atmosphere. It’s families, mates, local clubs, volunteers, all getting behind it. It’s pretty simple really, everyone just showing up and having a crack.

At the finish in Lancefield, there’s music, food, and a bit of a buzz as everyone comes in. It’s a good spot to sit down, catch up with people, and have a well-earned drink after it all.

That’s really what the Pub to Pub is about. A reason to get out with spring just around the corner, move a bit more, and be part of something that’s growing in the community.
