Getting Around

Getting around the Macedon Ranges

If you’re driving to the Macedon Ranges, the Calder Freeway and major connecting roads offer easy access to the region’s nine villages, and every nook and cranny in between.

V/Line’s fast-rail service from Melbourne to Bendigo generally runs on the hour and stops at Clarkefield, Riddells Creek, Gisborne, Macedon, Woodend, Kyneton and Malmsbury.

V/Line has an app to help you stay up-to-date with service information and timetables so you can plan your journey in advance. Bikes can be carried free of charge but only if space is available and during off-peak times. Get more information at

Vline, Woodend

Gisborne’s GisBus service has permanent and on-demand bus services connecting the town to the V/Line rail network.

Organ’s Coaches

Organ’s Coaches offers public bus services between Malmsbury and Kyneton on Thursdays (excluding public holidays), and Kyneton and Woodend every weekday during school terms.

The Dyson Group

The Dyson Group offers bus services in Kyneton Wednesday to Friday.
