Macedon Ranges Autumn Festival – returns in 2024!

Nine Villages, One Festival – Unearth autumn in the Macedon Ranges. Enjoy a month-long program of vibrant farmers markets, curated trails and itineraries, open gardens, foodie experiences, artisan workshops and events across nine colourful, historic villages.

Hanging Rock events

Hanging Rock is home to a variety of events throughout the year, including major concerts with star attractions. Globally renowned performers such as Elton John and Bruce Springsteen have played on stage at the reserve.

Budburst Festival

Held each November, Budburst is held across multiple cellar doors in the region. Meet the winemaker, enjoy local food and entertainment, plus have a grand adventure winding your way along scenic backcountry roads. You can even book tickets to board the hop-on-hop-off Budburst Hoppa Bus to visit multiple cellar doors without having to drive.

Kyneton Daffodil & Arts Festival

The Kyneton Daffodil & Arts Festival is all about wholesome, good ol’ fashioned country fun. The festival program features everything from One Act Plays, Open Gardens, a Spring Flower Show, Antique Fair, Art, Craft and Photography Exhibitions, Dog Dash and a town Scarecrow Competition.

The festival is held over 11 days in early September and ends with a grand parade down the main street of town.

Macedon Ranges Music Festival

Held at the iconic Hanging Rock Reserve in March, the Macedon Ranges Music Festival is a place where people come together for a day of music, dancing, food, drinks, friends, family and community. One hundred percent of profits are donated to the Cambodian Kids Foundation.

Garden Lovers’ Fair

The Garden Lovers’ Fair has grown to be one of the most popular garden fairs’ in Victoria. With some 40 specialist and unique stall holders, the Mount Macedon & District Horticulture Societies Garden Lovers’ Fair is held on the historic garden estate of Bolobek each October.

Woodend Winter Arts Festival

The Woodend Winter Arts Festival is an annual celebration held over the King’s Birthday long weekend. It showcases the very best of classical music from Australia and internationally, along with a lively literary and visual arts program. The event takes place across various venues in the charming village of Woodend in the Macedon Ranges. Accommodation over this weekend books out early so make sure to plan in advance!

Kyneton Contemporary Art Triennial

Held every three years in March, the Kyneton Contemporary Art Triennial (KCAT) is a nine-day event featuring contemporary artists from across Australia, in multiple sites throughout Kyneton.

The last KCAT event was held in 2022.
