Tieve Tara TEMPORARY CLOSURE

From the team here at the Gardens of Tieve Tara, we’d like to express our very best wishes to our community during this challenging time.

In a precautionary measure, that considers the current public health situation with the spread of COVID-19, we are closing Tieve Tara to the public from Wednesday 18 March until further notice.

Any updates to this situation will appear on our website and our social media channels.

We are very grateful for the loyalty and understanding of our lovely community and wish you and your families all well during this time.

Nestled on the eucalypt-clad slopes of Mount Macedon is a truly remarkable oasis of beauty.

The Gardens of Tieve Tara is often referred to as ‘The Jewel of The Mountain, A Little Piece of Heaven, Paradise, Magical, Relaxing and Tranquil’.

It’s is all this and more.

And as the seasons change, so does this amazing garden.

When you first walk into Tieve Tara, you realise the size of the garden. Not too big but not too small at 7.5 acres, you’ll find sweeping lawns, grand established trees and two lakes – one arched by a Monet-style bridge and another surrounded by beautiful plants.

There’s also a stunning perennial walk and a quaint lawned tennis court. You can sit down under a romantic rose arbour among beautiful rose beds. Or discover ‘Treasure Island’ and a cool, shady fern area. Resident ducks, geese and chickens also wander happily around.

The garden has entertainment for children too. Spread a picnic blanket and watch the kids enjoy the little fairy-like playground on the edge of the forest, including a cubby house, sandpit and slide.

The Gardens in Autumn

The garden is a lovely place to be in during autumn as reds, oranges, and yellows steal the scenery. There’s always something new to enjoy and experience as the gardens react to the change in weather between March and May.  The Monet-style bridge also changes dramatically, as the wisteria leaves surrounding it change from green to yellow. What a masterpiece!

The Gardens in Spring

Spring is another wonderful time of year at Tieve Tara, as the fantastic range of colours delight the eye and refresh the soul.  Take a walk up the perennial path, meander around the lakes, through the fern glade and relax among the bulb flowers.
