Malmsbury Cemetery Tour – Introduction to Stone and Stoneworkers

Join Malmsbury Historical Society on a walking tour of Malmsbury Cemetery. Hear about local bluestone history and heritage, and those who worked with stone for a living.
Malmsbury Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Malmsbury VIC, Australia

Stone is a natural part of our landscape and man has used stone for millennia for a variety of purposes including gravestones. Cemeteries are an ideal place to experience first-hand a wide range of stones from many countries. Malmsbury bluestone is now a designated Global Heritage Stone Resource, a first for an Australian stone. Join Malmsbury Historical Society on a walking tour of Malmsbury Cemetery and immerse in our local bluestone history and heritage, identify other stone types and learn about those who worked with stone for a living.

Cost of tour is $5 per person, cash payments only on the day.

These tours are popular and there is a limit of 20 per walk, so bookings are essential.
