The Macedon Ranges is host to an exciting and diverse range of festivals and concerts throughout the year. Our lineup of festivals appeals to all tastes and interests, from food, wine and flowers, to wellness, art and baroque music.

Concerts at Hanging Rock

Hanging Rock Reserve is host to concerts featuring renowned artists such as Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Rod Stewart, Midnight Oil, John Butler Trio and Nick Cave.

The Macedon Ranges Autumn Festival

A month-long festival across nine villages celebrating all things great about autumn in the Macedon Ranges. Held in April, you can experience free and ticketed events including live music, art, food, wine, cider and gin experiences. Follow the Autumn Pie & Tart Trail and visit stunning autumn open gardens.

Wine & Food Budburst Festival

Did you know the Macedon Ranges is the coldest wine growing region on mainland Australia? Come and taste our outstanding cool climate wines, enjoy delicious food, listen to local musicians and meet the winemaker. Self-drive to your favourite winery events along scenic backcountry roads or join a ticketed bus tour experience – wine tasting in the Macedon Ranges is truly an adventure!

Garden Lovers Fair

Operating since 2003, the Garden Lovers’ Fair on a historic garden estate in Macedon has grown to be one of the most popular garden fairs’ in Victoria. Held each October and featuring around 40 specialist and unique stallholders, the Garden Lovers’ Fair is a picture-perfect escape to the Macedon Ranges and a must for green thumbs and garden lovers.

Woodend Winter Arts Festival

The Woodend Winter Arts Festival is an annual celebration showcasing the very best of classical music from Australia and internationally. It also hosts a lively literary and visual arts program. The event takes place across various venues in the charming village of Woodend.

Macedon Ranges Music Festival

Held each year at Hanging Rock Reserve, the Macedon Ranges Music Festival is a family-friendly event where people come together for music, dancing, food, drinks and a great cause. One hundred percent of profits get donated to the Cambodian Kids Foundation.

Mountain Writers Festival

The inaugural Mountain Writers Festival kicks off in November 2022 in the leafy village of Macedon (Wurundjeri Country). Expect an epic lineup of thought-leaders, regional local hospitality, great company, author panels,  and in-conversation events showcasing novels with regional settings, environmental science writing, indigenous storytelling, nature writing and cli-fi.

Kyneton Daffodil & Arts Festival

The Kyneton Daffodil and Arts Festival welcomes spring in Kyneton with 11 days of activities including visual and performing arts, crafts, gardens, flower shows, markets and hospitality. Along with beautiful daffodils throughout the town and surrounding countryside, visitors can take in art exhibitions, performances, ferret racing, the Kyneton Dog Dash and Scarecrow Competition. Many local gardens are open to visitors, the Spring Flower Show presents the signature blooms of the festival and the Festival of One Act Plays brings performers from throughout Victoria.
