Botanic art is a combination of art and science with plants depicted in exquisite detail and accuracy.
The Mt Macedon Horticultural Society has been supporting an active group of talented artists, many who exhibit both nationally and internationally, for over a decade. The group include artists who regularly exhibit in major exhibitions at both the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne and Sydney, as well as members who have exhibited works in major institutions such as the Hunt Institute, USA, and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, London.
This is an opportunity to view and purchase original works and admire the diversity of approaches that the artists employ in this highly demanding art-form. Capturing the bio-diversity of plants found in both the natural landscape and historic gardens these artists adopt a contemporary approach and style using the highest quality materials and a variety of mediums executed in fine detail.
