Begin your morning with a coffee at one of the quaint cafes in the village of Romsey.
You’ll then head out along the Federation Trail that runs parallel to Melbourne-Lancefield Road. The ride mostly travels along a dedicated shared path for cyclists and pedestrians.
As you leave Romsey’s main street, the trail becomes a well-formed granitic sand surface and the surroundings transform from classic Australian architecture to expanses of rolling farmland.
Beautiful deciduous trees line many sections of the path that are stunning in autumn and cool in summer. Stop and pat a cow or two over the fence along the way.
