More from Kyneton Old Rectory

Listed by the National Trust of Victoria, the Old Rectory is a luxury, three-bedroom house for up to six adult guests, located in Kyneton’s historic town centre. Set in almost half an acre of stunning garden, with a large 160-year-old walnut tree a significant feature, the Old Rectory is built of local stone with a mix of late Georgian and Victorian colonial architectural features.

Furnishings, light fittings and art work are a mix of antique and contemporary and the house has Wi Fi, hydronic heating and air-conditioning throughout.

Beautifully maintained mature gardens with dining and seating choices surround the Old Rectory. The garden itself is designed around ‘rooms’ such as the sunken garden, parterre garden, secret garden and fernery, separated by Pittosporum, Cypress, English Box and Myrtus hedging.

Step outside the grounds of the Old Rectory and you are in the heart of Kyneton’ Piper Street restaurant, bar and retail precinct.

Accommodation facilities include:

Three beautifully furnished bedrooms with Bose sound systems, quality beds with pure cotton sheets and feather and down quilts and pillows. The ensuite bathrooms feature marble wall tiles, English tapware, heated towel rails, unobtrusive night lighting and Penhaligon toiletries.

The Caroline Chisholm bedroom has a king size bed and views onto the north lawn. French doors open onto the eastern verandah and parterre garden, whilst the ensuite bathroom has double vanities and twin showers.

The David Unaipon bedroom has a queen size bed and views onto the fernery to the west of the house: the ensuite bathroom has a single shower and vanity.

The library is equipped with a television, Foxtel, DVD, CD player and Bose sound system, with direct access via French doors to the parterre garden and southerly views of the lych gate garden.

The living room has facilities to relax and dine and features a Bose sound system and television. Located next to the kitchen, the living room has garden views and direct access to the north lawn and outdoor dining area.
