Watercolour, Wicker and Wire
This is a unique exhibition of watercolour paintings and wicker and wire handicrafts by husband and wife artists, Terry and Michelle Jarvis. Their joint exhibition at The Gallery runs from 6 October until 31 October.
Terry Jarvis is one of Australia’s celebrated watercolour artists and his work is known and collected worldwide. He is also an established art critic and judge of exhibitions. His passion for his craft and his love for watercolour is revealed through his varied subject matter – ranging from magnificent Australian scenes to paintings of his travels around the world. He loves the challenge of capturing light and moments of time in his paintings. Terry exhibits widely and tutors throughout Australia and overseas.
Michelle Jarvis shares her love of nature and natural materials with her love of writing, poetry and children stories. These handicrafts have been a feature of her creative life, making all sorts of artifacts from materials from the environment shehas shared with Terry in the Wellsford Forest near Bendigo for over 30 years. These creations often incorporate her wire sculptures.
Terry and Michelle invite you to “Meet the Artists” at The Gallery at 2pm Saturday 10 October. The Gallery is situated at 684 Mt. Macedon Road, Mt. Macedon and is opened Friday to Tuesday, 10am until 4pm (Behind the Trading Post).
