This is a class with an interdisciplinary approach to the Yoga of voice – combining traditional and contemporary approaches to voice as an instrument for medicinal, meditational, devotional playful, and shared ritual purposes.
Term two focus: Elements of Dhrupad and TaKeTiNa Rhythm Process, with a dash of chanting, vocal anatomy and voice-therapy techniques.
In The Vocal Yogi- we explore our voices through Body Mind Centering, Qigong, Taketina Rhythm Process, The Musical Body process, musical structures such as melody, harmony and rhythm, some traditional chanting and song rituals such as Mantra, Kirtan, Dhurpad and folk music and traditional and contemporary approaches to breathwork, Pranayama and vocal improvisation.
This class will support participants to develop awareness, ease, spontaneity, agility, responsiveness, flow states and the spirit of play and curiosity.
This class welcomes absolute beginners, all the way through to advanced music and voice practitioners. Bookings essential.

Charlotte is a specialist in the areas of body, movement, voice and rhythm. She is a facilitator of experiential education, creative midwifery and mentorship and is the creator of The Musical Body Process, leading groups nationally and internationally since 2003.. Charlotte is a registered Taketina Rhythm Process Facilitator, ISMETA registered Somatic Movement Educator/Therapist, Qigong facilitator, VIT registered school teacher and a Tamalpa Life/Art Process® Practitioner .
