A master performance from Guinean kora virtuoso Mohamed Camara, supported by local percussion ensemble Mamba Negra.
Come experience some truly unique music from one of Australia’s most highly regarded West African musicians. For one night only in Kyneton, Mohamed will share his rich Manding heritage through a performance on the kora, a stringed instrument from West Africa sometimes known as the African harp.

About the artists

Based in Melbourne, MOHAMED CAMARA is a multi-talented musician from Guinea, West Africa. Mohamed seeks musical innovation through unique collaborations with western musicians and styles, taking creative risks inspired by respectful musical exchange. He is leader of contemporary Guinean fusion band Jarabi, and a member of Melbourne crowd favourite Ausecuma Beats.
MAMBA NEGRA is a West African percussion drum group with a deep appreciation for the rich traditions of West African music. Their journey began with a collaborative project for an end-of-year performance, and they have since evolved into a powerful and dynamic ensemble dedicated to honouring the ancient traditions of West African percussion.
