Greek – Middle Eastern tart with swirls of buttered phyllo dough, a sweet custard, and fresh blueberries all baked together into an incredible desert.
Dromkeen is a stately National Trust homestead with beautiful gardens boasting a range of Australian native and European plants, a gazebo and two resident alpacas.. Built-in 1889, Dromkeen was once the country estate of Judge Arthur Chomley and later became home to the world-famous Dromkeen Picture Book Art Collection.
Visitors can roam the gallery or the gardens and visit the tearoom for the best coffee in the Macedon Ranges and enjoy some delicious country style cooking. The vanilla slices are amazing! Various events and classes are held during the year, such as ‘Storytime’ held on the first Saturday of every month, the Dromkeen Family Literature Day held at the end of March, musical performances, storytelling evenings, cartooning, writing, art and blacksmithing classes.
Nestled in the Macedon Ranges in the tiny hamlet of Riddell’s Creek, Dromkeen is only 30 minutes drive from Melbourne Airport.
