As the festive season approaches, we’re delighted to invite you to an afternoon of sparkling wine and Champagne at St. Agnes Homestead. Some of you will remember our tasting at the Old Rectory; this time we’re heading to another lovely Kyneton setting, with our friends at Prunella once again looking after the food.
Set among heritage gardens and vineyards on Kyneton’s edge, St. Agnes is a beautifully restored nineteenth-century homestead. Its sweeping lawns and old trees make a rather lovely setting for an afternoon of tasting.
In the glasses, we’ll travel from the Macedon Ranges, Tasmania, the Adelaide Hills and Yarra Valley to New Zealand, England and Italy, with stops in Burgundy, the Loire Valley and Champagne. Expect a mix of fresh, lively sparkling wines and more layered, complex styles: a chance to compare regions, hear a few stories and find something lovely for the festive season.
Champagne will certainly have its place, but we’re just as keen to explore what’s happening elsewhere. Whether you’re looking for something for the Christmas table, a gift, or simply a bottle to open with friends, there should be plenty to enjoy along the way.
With the wines, Prunella’s food and a beautiful setting, this feels like a very fine way to spend a Sunday afternoon. We’d love you to join us!
