More from Islay House Woodend

Islay House is an iconic, historic, building right in Woodend.  A five minute walk to bistros, cafes, brewery, wine bars, boutiques and the golf club.  A perfect base to enjoy all the Macedon Ranges has to offer.

Meticulously restored, Islay House has five beautifully decorated rooms all with en suites, blending history and modern convenience in a calm and stylish manner.  Three queen, a double and a cute single room downstairs can be booked individually or book the whole house which sleeps nine.  Decorated with antiques, original art works and comfy furniture, guests enjoy not only their own room but the lounge, morning room and extensive gardens.  Sit under the oaks and dream, read by the pond, pick raspberries in season or chat to the chooks as they chook about.  Enjoy a wine by the open fire, light up the BBQ or play the piano, guitar or brouse the extensive library and borrow a book for your stay.  Islay House encourages conversation and connection,  it is a place to relax and rejuvenate.

Previously known as the British and American Hotel, a coaching inn hosting the hopeful gold miners as they walked to Bendigo in the 1860s, Islay House now offers luxury colonial-style accommodation.   Each room is affectionately named after a renovation incident or story and can be booked individually or bring the family, friends or an activity group and have the whole place to yourselves.  Red Room, Blue Room, Brick Room, the three queens, Stripey Room the double and the Single has the only bath!  Continental breakfast is included.  Your hosts are Tarni who comes from a television producing background her partner Clive, a furniture maker with a long motorcycle racing careeer.   Bookings can be made directly by calling Tarni or through Airbnb.
