Rotary Garden designfest

Three professional designed gardens in the Macedon Ranges
33 Clowes Street, Malmsbury, Victoria, Australia

Australia’s premier open garden weekend

18 professionally designed gardens will be open on this weekend throughout Victoria. All proceeds will go to charities.

The following gardens will be open in the Macedon Ranges:

Melrose
33 Clowes St Malmsbury ($12 entry per person)
Melrose is an 1860’s bluestone cottage set on a large township block, with a garden full of interest and variety, some formality and symmetry, but also some romance and wildness. The planting scheme includes ornamentals as well as productive plants, and an eclectic range of garden sculpture and artifacts provide points of focus.

72 Dalton St Gisborne ($12 entry per person)
This large garden has been designed to retain and enhance the connection of a newly constructed house to the surrounding bushland reserve, while creating spaces for children to play and explore. Generous spaces and organic lines soften the architecture of the house and intimate spaces are surrounded with swathes of mass planting.

Hillside
8 Brewster St, Woodend ($8 entry per person)
Set on a hillside above the village and enjoying the borrowed landscape of the surrounding hills, “Hillside” in Spring is a garden alive with colour and foliage. The planting scheme features combinations of over 100 plant varieties suitable for the cool climate location.
