Bolobek is a magnificent heritage listed rural property situated in the foothills of the Macedon Ranges. The garden, originally established over a century ago by the Syme family and later enhanced by the Law- Smiths has now been reinvigorated by the current owners, the Robertsons.
The garden features mature Linden, Birch and Oaks. It truly is an oasis with a walled rose garden where mature, espaliered fruit trees augment mass climbers to clothe the walls. There are poplar and crab apple walks, lilac hedges, herbaceous borders, prize winning dahlias and a creek and fernery all tied together by sweeping lawns.
Woodland areas allow exploration of beds of mature woodland shrubs – and an orchard where over-mature trees are being steadily replaced with new plantings.
Microclimate is an important part of the existence of this garden and you’ll witness pockets of shade and protection and moisture.
Bolobek is more than a garden, it is a working farm running sheep and beef cattle, where the garden and the farm sit well together. Currently the garden truly is a tapestry of autumnal colour.
