Light Up Kyneton!

A beautiful and inspiring visual light display on the historic Kyneton Mechanics Institute - the perfect end to a perfect autumn day in the Macedon Ranges.
81 Mollison Street, Kyneton VIC, Australia

The Kyneton Daffodil & Arts Festival is putting on a colourful light show on the historic Kyneton Mechanics Institute as part of the Macedon Ranges Autumn Festival.

The show will highlight this iconic Kyneton building in a spectacular way, similar to the White Night displays in Melbourne and Bendigo. Brilliant display of colours will feature the work of students and be created and projected by video artist and filmmaker Jim Coad.

This creative and uplifiting event will go from 7 – 10pm and each display will last for 30 minutes. The light show can be viewed from the footpath and forecourt of the Mechanics Institute, and from the grassy Kyneton Mechanics Reserve, where there will be tables for visitors to relax with Friday night take-aways from local businesses. Buskers will also entertain from the Mechanics Reserve, including special guest appearances by ‘The Gardeners’. These hobbit-like other worldly creatures were designed by local puppeteers and will be handing out gifts of joy and positivity to the crowd.

It’s the perfect end to a fun-filled autumn day in Kyneton, whether it’s a stroll along the Campaspe River or a visit to one of the venues on our Autumn Pie and Tart Trail.

Supported by the Macedon Ranges Shire Council and the Macedon Ranges Autumn Festival.
