Forest Glade Gardens is recognised as one of Australia’s finest private gardens and is absolutely spectacular in autumn. The estate is a gardener’s paradise and a wonderful location for anyone with a passion for photography, drawing or painting.
Located on the southern slopes of Mount Macedon in Victoria, Australia, this magnificently landscaped garden covers fourteen acres (5.6 ha) and has four distinct themes:
- The large English section with its huge exotic trees and masses of colour.
- The delightful Japanese section complete with bonsai house.
- The beautiful woodland area displaying masses of shade-loving plants.
- The cool fern gully.
Dogs on a leash are welcome, please bring bags to clean up after your pooches. Barbecues are not permitted.
Children under 16 are free when accompanied by a ticketed adult.
Opening from 10am, with last entry at 4.30pm. The Gardens close at 5pm.
General Parking information – Forest Glade Gardens
Please note there is very limited parking available outside Forest Glade and in Mount Macedon village. If parking in Mount Macedon village, it is an approx. 1.4km walk each way, with a steep uphill climb to access the garden entry. It’s not suitable for all fitness levels.
Mid-week, there is limited street parking outside the Forest Glade gate. Please note parking signs to avoid any fines.
