Art in the Vines at Hanging Rock Winery – An Exhibition of Sculpture, is the first of its kind to be held in the Macedon Ranges.

From 10 November 2018 to 31 March 2019, visitors can wander through a trail of discovery on the winery’s expansive lawns, exploring 25 works of art which have been hand-crafted by leading local, national and international sculptors.

Exhibition curator Malcolm Thomson said, “Sculptors who have their pieces on display at the likes of The Met Museum in New York, The National Gallery of Australia, The National Gallery of Victoria and many other prominent spaces around the world and Australia have signed up to participate. Their sculptures are absolutely awe inspiring”.

Many of the sculptures have either been or are being created in artist studios throughout Central Victoria while some will be hand-crafted onsite by three renowned artists-in-residence.

This is where Art in the Vines sets itself apart, because sculptors Andreas Busiman, Anton Hassell and Brigit Heller have been engaged to physically create their pieces at the winery, giving visitors unprecedented access to the artists. Visitors will also have an opportunity to attend a workshop with these sculptors or perhaps a painting workshop with renowned local painter Helen Cottle or Arthur Ted Powell.

The exhibition will be officially launched on Saturday, 10 November 2018 with a Long Lunch set amongst the sculptures, where guests will enjoy a 3 course meal matched with wine and entertainment.

With the backdrop of the vineyard, Hanging Rock and Mount Macedon providing an unparalleled setting this exhibition offers a winery experience like no other, all while enjoying award winning wine.

Entry to the exhibition is free.
