My Valentines -An Exhibition By Jahne Hope Williams
Valentine’s Day has a long history, quite distanced from the origins of activities of 3rd-century Saint Valentine, but still in the 21st century very much focussed on the emotion of love.
Member of The Gallery, Jahne Hope-Williams, creates for our first exhibition of the year the appropriately titled “My Valentines”.
Jahne combines her love for making and painting miniatures with her interest in spiritual concepts. Reiki symbols appear to emphasize the Valentine theme.
This exhibition reveals the love the artist has for making miniatures. Jahne uses pen and watercolour washes of Beatrix Potter style animals on dried teabags enhanced by the natural stain of the soft fabric.
She also paints on acrylic canvas and these small images are often adorned with gold symbols . Her exhibition will include some new soft sculptures that are for hanging. Her creations are ideal for gifts for all ages.
Jahne’s exhibitiion begins on Tuesday 3 February through to Monday 1 March. The opening of My Valentines takes place on Saturday 7 February, 2pm until 4pm.
The Gallery is open 10am to 4pm Friday to Tuesday at 684 Mt. Macedon Road, Mount Macedon (behind the Trading Post).
