More from Lost Watering Hole The Lancefield Brewery

Located in the heritage village of Lancefield, about 1 hour drive from Melbourne, a new and exciting brewery and restaurant, Lost Watering Hole, The Lancefield Brewery offers a welcoming space, in a beautiful setting, nestled in the Macedon Ranges of Victoria.

Visitors will discover a slowed down, relaxed atmosphere, sadly lost in much of our day to day living, that is perfect for sharing laughs and swapping stories with family and friends.

At Lost Watering Hole, The Lancefield Brewery, we’re fast becoming famous for the flavoursome beers we brew on site. 100% naturally brewed without nasty additives, our crafted beers are made using the renowned German brewing method.

We offer four core beers – Big Roo our Pale Ale, Flightless our Draught, Wide Wombi our India Pale Ale and Swamp Rat our Dark Lager. All with their own uniquely distinct taste and flavour. We also offer a special Beer of the Month. Look out for it.

It’s not only beer we offer either… our quality wines and ciders, all carefully selected from local producers and range of spirits will please any palate.

Sourcing from local suppliers when we can, our menu is simple but tasty fare, in perfect partnership with our beers.

Our summer menu offers small plates, share platters, brewery favourites and large plates for those hungry times. Many of our meals have gluten free and vegan options. If you have any special dietary concerns, please ask our friendly staff for advice.

Looking for that special space for a family or friends get together? Maybe it’s a special birthday, anniversary or reunion. The restaurant is perfect for small groups and best of all, with plenty of quality accommodation on offer in Lancefield, you and your guests will be well looked after.

Lancefield’s megafauna discovery:

Known for its unique history, our home of Lancefield has one of the richest deposits of once lost megafauna fossils in Australia. Several excavations have uncovered bones within the “Lancefield Swamp”. The site contains one of the richest deposits of megafauna fossils in Australia and remains of major scientific importance in understanding why the Australian megafauna has all but disappeared.

Why Lost Watering Hole?

Our name is largely derived from the town’s “lost brewery” and “lost megafauna”, with a “watering hole” also being a waterhole from which animals regularly drink.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
