Located in the village of Hesket in the Macedon Ranges, the vineyard at Hesket Estate was first established in the 1980’s. Further expansion and refinement occurred in the 1990’s when the Hudspeth Stevenson family purchased the property. The vineyard is at an elevation of 660 metres above sea level and just 5km from Hanging Rock. Hesket Estate is today a boutique cool climate vineyard specialising in the varieties of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling. Most recently the 2023 Hesket Estate Pinot Noir received 96 points in the Wine Companion.
In addition to these estate grown wines a Gewurztraminer from a local Macedon Ranges Vineyard and a Heathcote Shiraz and Heathcote Sangiovese are available. Proprietors, the Hudspeth Stevenson family utilise modern viticulture techniques using the grey and red loam soils of the beautiful Hesket Kerrie Valley and minimal intervention winemaking. Such techniques yield grapes and wine of exceptional quality and character. All grapes are handpicked. Tasting and sales of these fine wines in this peaceful garden setting will allow you to experience the lifestyle of a truly boutique vineyard.
