Hedge Farm – Functions – Gallery – Accommodation
Hedge Farm, is a privately owned 20-cre property with a history dating back to the mid 1800’s. It is Macedon Ranges unique accommodation and function venue. The rustic barn, stable building, gallery and lush green gardens are distinctive spaces for music afternoons, private functions, food and wine lunches, weddings and small conferences or workshops. Located in Carlsruhe, just ten minutes from Woodend and Kyneton and one hour from Melbourne, make it a convenient setting for both locals and Melburnians.
Wedding Venue and Unique Conference Facilities
Exclusive use of the property for private or corporate functions gives access to all our unique spaces and can be booked for either intimate gatherings or larger formal functions for up to 100 guests. The workshop space can seat up to 50 and the reception areas can seat 100.
Hedge Farm is a licensed venue and serves a small selection of wines from our cool climate wine region. We work with the best local caterers to provide menu offerings from food truck goodies, buffets, shared platters, canapés or more formal sit down courses. Guests are delighted by the variety and quality of food options and our stand-out approach, which is personal and customised.
Hedge Farm is also a special escape for those wanting an alternative stay in Macedon Ranges. Guests can choose to stay in Merino Station or one of our two converted railway vans – Sleepers Van and Brake Van. There is space for one couple in each – three couples in total.
Our luxury option is Merino Station, which was once a three-room railway station. Moved to the property from Merino in the western district of Victoria over 30 years ago it now nestles in our English gardens. Its romantic modern country style interior retains much of the charm and character of the 1884 building. The station is a gorgeous self-contained cottage with veranda, open fire-places in lounge and bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, large bedroom, custom-made egg bath and chandeliers. A perfect romantic retreat for one couple, with a minimum two-night stay for weekends. The station is where our brides and grooms choose to stay.
The two railway worker vans were moved to Hedge Farm in the 1980’s and in 2014 were lovingly converted for glamping (glamour camping)– ‘Van’ style. The vans have become popular with outdoor lovers and the adventurous who seek a different accommodation experience. Both vans are fitted out with modern amenities – queen size bed, luxurious linen and electric blankets, electric heating, flat screen TV and DVD, sound dock system, kettle, toaster, microwave, crockery and cutlery. They each have their own designated shower room and basin, as well as their own toilet facilities. Showers and toilets are in two separate buildings and only a short walk from the vans. There is no running water in the vans. Both vans sleep one couple or a single.
