Open Gardens Victoria: Tugurium

The perfect day out for garden lovers and green thumbs! Visit a beautiful open garden in Macedon for one weekend only.
8-10 Centenary Avenue, Macedon VIC 3440, Australia

Come and experience Stephen Ryan’s extraordinary private garden at Macedon filled with a collection of rare and unusual plants. These include species on the Plant Trust National Plant Collections Register, amongst which are Acanthus, Sambucus and Osmanthus.

This is the first occasion that this year-round garden has opened in winter with Open Gardens Victoria. This wintry opening will give visitors the chance to see how the featuring foliage, texture and form of various plantings works harmoniously with small pops of floral plumes to distract from the bare bones of the garden. Featuring species will include hellebores, brugmansia, cyclamen coum, eranthus and various winter flowering bulbs.

Meander through the woodland plantings, stumble across the circular lawn complete with orchard and neighbouring vegetable garden, and enjoy the pond with nearby ‘Cluckingham Palace’ which houses the ducks and chickens.

Co-owner Craig Lidgerwood will have his intricately beautiful botanical prints for sale.

There is no parking in Centenary Ave. Nearest Parking is Marshall Avenue.
