Open Gardens Victoria – Caelum
Open Gardens Victoria opens Caelum, an inspiring established Macedon Ranges garden, on Saturday 2 December, and Sunday 3 December.
Originally created in 1994 by renowned landscape designer Grant Saltmarsh and lovingly nurtured by former owners Margaret and Mal Pisaro, this award-winning 1.5-acre garden is opening to the public with its most recent owners for the first time in four years. Over the years, many rare and unusual plants and trees that thrive in the microclimates of the garden have been added with the influence of Stephen Ryan and his Dicksonia Rare Plants nursery. Hidden treasures abound with plants from all corners of the world adapted to the Mediterranean climate at Macedon. The current owners have also introduced an amazing collection of maples (genus Acer), which is their particular passion.
