FREE EVENT: Meet the artists of Daylesford Macedon Ranges Open Studios 2019 held on 13 – 14 and 20 – 22 April.
Six new artists are joining this year’s popular Daylesford Macedon Ranges Open studios program which sees 24 artists in 21 studios all inviting the public into their studios to see how art is created.
The new artists will join an established group of artists who have helped build the program’s reputation for showcasing high-quality work since the program was established in 2012.
In addition this year, two exciting new initiatives have been introduced to the Open Studios program, adding inclusiveness to the artistic and cultural diversity of our event.
We welcome Indigenous artist, Janet Bromley- as Open Studios artist-in-residence located at the Old Auction House Gallery in Kyneton. Janet is generously funded by Hepburn Shire.
Also three final year visual arts students from Federation and Latrobe Universities will be mentored during our event in the studios of artists Dianne Longley, Basil Eliades and Anthony Vanderzweep, all generously funded by Regional Arts Victoria
Held over two weekends, Open Studios draws more than 4000 visitors a year to the central highlands, an area regarded as one of Australia’s richest art regions.
This FREE EVENT offers visitors a rare chance to see how professional artists work, how their studios are set up and to ask how and why painters, sculptors, ceramicists, print makers, photographers and mixed media exponents do what they do.
All artists are also exhibiting in an Open Studios group exhibition at Daylesford’s Convent Gallery in a show that allows visitors to see which particular styles of work might appeal to their own personal taste.
