Children’s Author Storytime @ Dromkeen
Come and join us in the Dromkeen Gallery to meet award-winning author/illustrator Mark Wilson as he shares his special picture book, ‘A New Prayer For the Animals’. His book features many of the beautiful endangered animals in our world. Mark will also teach us how to draw some of the precious animals featured in his book and you can view the original illustrations. This is a free event, however books, prints and original illustrations can be purchased on the day.
Built-in 1889, Dromkeen was once the country estate of Judge Arthur Chomley and later became home to the world-famous Dromkeen Picture Book Art Collection.
Nestled in the Macedon Ranges in the tiny hamlet of Riddell’s Creek, Dromkeen is only 30 minutes drive from Melbourne Airport. This stately National Trust home has beautiful gardens with a range of Australian native and European plants, a gazebo and two resident peacocks.
Guests to Dromkeen are able to visit our Tea Room, browse in the galleries or wander around the beautiful autumn gardens which have trees more than 100 years old, some listed on the National Trust register. Make sure to try our famous Devonshire tea including special pumpkin scones for the Autumn Festival.
