Celebrating Dja Dja Wurrung Country
Come along to the Malmsbury Common in Dja Dja Wurrung country for a special Welcome to Country to celebrate the opening of the Macedon Ranges Autumn Festival.
This is one of three unique events that will be held during the Autumn Festival, over one big weekend (26-27 March), each celebrating the region’s rich Indigenous heritage and offering a unique opportunity to learn from Traditional Owners’ and Custodians’ connection to Country.
Malmsbury Common is a highly valued conservation reserve containing significant native grasslands, wetlands and stream bank vegetation.
This event will include:
- Djaara cultural heritage food and fibre plants tour
- Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony with Dja Dja Wurrung Elder
- A morning tea provided by local Indigenous catering group, Murnong Mamas
- Coffee truck onsite
Although it is free to attend, bookings are required to manage numbers. Please use the Buy Tickets link to reserve your place.
Parking is at 96 Mollison Street, Malmsbury.
