Brides of the Bank presents wedding dresses, photographs, and accessories worn by brides from local families from the late nineteenth century through the mid-twentieth century. Displayed in our former bank building; once a place of trust and safekeeping, the exhibition brings together exquisite garments that marked some of life’s most personal commitments. From Victorian-era craftsmanship to the elegance of later bridal wear, each piece reflects individual stories as well as highlighting fashion movements. Veils, gloves, shoes, and archival images offer glimpses into weddings both modest and formal, highlighting the role of tradition, family, and care in preserving these objects. Together, they form a quiet record of love and memory – rich, intricate, and enduring.
To celebrate Macedon Ranges Autumn Festival, Kyneton Museum is delighted to offer free entry on opening days throughout April – including exhibition entry.
