Australian Orienteering Champtionships
In the Spring school holidays, Orienteering Victoria will host the Australian Orienteering Championships. This consists of nine races over nine days including four National Championships, the Australian Senior Schools championships and a Victorian State championship.
The events will be held in forests and locations in and around Kyneton, Daylesford, Sunbury, Castlemaine, Blackwood and Maldon.
These areas have been chosen for their varied terrains including detailed former gold mining areas and complex granite terrain.
Kyneton will host the Australian Schools Sprint Orienteering Championships and Day 1 of the Goldfields 3 day event on Monday the 26th of September. Starting at the Community Gardens the event will finish with competitors running through Sacred Heart College.
The public Goldfield 3 day event provides an enter on day option for public to come and experience orienteering.
