Join in all the fun at Australia Day @ the Rock – Friday 26 January 2018 and help celebrate over 125 years of racing at the Rock! Featuring the bet365 Hanging Rock Cup.
Hanging Rock racecourse is surrounded by the Hanging Rock Reserve Park, located in the beautiful and unspoiled MacedonRanges. The dual Calder Freeway will see you there within a mere 45 minutes from Melbourne’s CBD. The park is not only breathtaking to those that visit but a national icon following Joan Lindsay’s book and film, ‘Picnic at Hanging Rock.’ However the history of the park does not end there, boasting a rich and interesting past. The closest town to Hanging Rock is Woodend, a town full of that sort after country charm, which makes it a spot very popular with tourists.
It is for all of these reasons why Hanging Rock makes a great place to lay down a rug, have a picnic and enjoy a great day out at the races.
