Kids Truffle Hunt at Double Oaks Estate
Winter School Holidays at Double Oaks Estate, Lancefield within the Macedon Ranges.
A unique hands‑on event, made exclusively for kids exploring the orchard on a Truffle Hunt where kids learn how truffles grow, how the dogs find them, and why they’re so special.
Finish with delicious Cheese Toasties with fresh truffle (vegan option available) and juice, plus learning packs and activities to take home.
Designed for children aged 7–14.
Event Details This event will last roughly 2 hours and will host around 15 children. They will head out with our Truffle Hunter, and in small, assisted groups of five, each child will take it in turns digging up and unearthing fresh truffles after they’ve been flagged by our professional truffle dogs.
Tickets & Parent Information Only children need to purchase a ticket, and the experience is designed exclusively for kids. Parents do not attend the hunt unless specific support is required. While the children are in the orchard, parents are welcome to relax at the warm cellar door and enjoy a wine tasting while they wait.
What to Bring Please ensure children arrive with warm, wet‑weather clothing and appropriate footwear. Boots will need to go through a foot bath for biosecurity reasons before entering the truffière.
