Our guesthouse is an expansive and luxuriously comfortable 4 bedroom homestead, surrounded by outdoor decks and mature parkland style gardens. It offers an array of areas both inside and out to entertain, lounge or simply relax in. With contemporary interior styling and vast historical gardens to explore, our space is one of understated luxury, which is both meditative and restorative.
With hydronic heating throughout and fire places in the main lounging areas, this home is cosy and inviting and a great base to discover what Mount Macedon and its surrounds have to offer. A multitude of spectacular picture windows run along the entire west and north facing sides of the house, letting in the beautiful north facing sun and bringing the gardens inside from out.
The generous master suite featuring a KB includes it’s own private lounge area, outdoor balcony space and luxurious bath with large picture windows looking out into the gardens and up to Mount Macedon. Bedroom two features a KB, private lounging area and library space. Bedroom three features two king single beds. The fourth bedroom is set a short stroll away in a stand alone bungalow with king size bed, another private lounge area with big screen tv, a kitchenette, and a bathroom.
The vast main lounge area and entrance hall, features 2 oversized window box lounge areas, comfortable leather sofas, big screen tv and a gas fireplace. This area is ideal for larger group gatherings and also boasts a generous size coffee table which can be used for informal alfresco style dining.
The open plan modern kitchen features a double doored La’canche oven and stove top, plus quality cook wear and equipment that even the most discerning cook should be impressed with. An entertainers dream, the kitchen flows into the spectacular main dining area suitable for up to 10 guests. In front of the kitchen is an informal sitting area surrounded by picture windows letting in the beautiful north facing light.
Off to the other side of the kitchen is a secluded study area, set away from the hustle and bustle of the main living areas for those who require a quiet space to get some work done.
The parkland style garden is set on a gentle slope. The volcanic soil and cool climate provide an ideal environment for the gardens mature trees, many of which, including the Weeping Elm, and well over 100 years old. Winding paths take you through various ‘nooks and crannies’ which boast Japanese Maples, Copper Beeches, Rhododendrons, Camelias, Sir Douglas Fir Trees, a Linden Tree, and a Grand Tulip Tree.
