More from Cabin on the Mount

The modern one-bedroom Cabin is a romantic haven nestled in the mountains with uninterrupted forest views. The Cabin is the perfect hideaway, or, if venturing out, you may wish to wander down the street for coffee at the Trading Post Cafe or explore the Mount Macedon Walking Trail, which includes the area’s top tourist attractions, Mount Towrong, Sanatorium Lake, Camel’s Hump and the Memorial Cross. A short car trip away is the infamous Hanging Rock. Other highlights include the many wineries in the region. These can be explored via the Macedon Ranges Wine Trail. After a day of exploring, sipping wine and forest bathing, the Cabin offers both a wood fire and a spa bath to restore and replenish.

Mount Macedon is located in the Country of the Dja Dja Wurrung, Taungurung and Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Peoples. There are places of great Indigenous cultural significance in the area. Mount Macedon was important for Indigenous ancestors for trade, ceremonies and sustenance. In more recent history, Mount Macedon became a summer retreat for wealthy Victorians wanting to escape the summer heat. We love the area for walking or what the Japanese call shinrin-yoku, which translates literally to forest bathing.
