The Graduate
There will be very few people who don’t remember the iconic film, The Graduate, starring Dustin Hoffman and Anne Bancroft, released in 1967. A young man, Benjamin Braddock, finds himself adrift and alienated after graduation. He is tempted into an affair with the charismatic Mrs Robinson. A mischevious dark comedy, with rapid fire dialogue between fascinating characters. The play explores family dysfunction, parental and societal expectations and failing marriages. Set against the shiny backdrop of 1960’s Southern California.
Warning: The play contains nudity, explicit language and sexual references so definitely an ‘adults only’ night out.
The Graduate is an amateur production by arrangement with Origin Theatrical, on behalf of Samuel French. Directed by Robert Wallace. A play adapted by Terry Johnson, based on the novel by Charles Webb.
