Stone Setting Workshop – Bezel Set Ring Making

Create a made-to-measure sterling silver ring band and besel set a cabochon stone.

16 November 2019 - 17 November 2019

9:00AM - 1:00PM and 9:00AM - 5:00PM

In this one and a half day workshop, you will learn to create a made-to-measure sterling silver ring band and bezel set a cabochon stone. We work with sterling silver in the workshop or for an additional fee you can make your ring from gold. You learn to make the entire piece, including the ring band, which will fit your finger perfectly, so you will be able to wear your ring home after the workshop.

Like all Pod Jewellery workshops, we want you to make a ring that suits your style and taste, so you’ll be able to choose the type/colour of cabochon gemstone, the size and the shape (round or oval) and whether you make it from silver or gold. Standard size gemstones will be included in the workshop fee (see below).

All tools, equipment and materials (including a cabochon gemstone and sterling silver) are supplied. Choose from a huge selection cabochon gemstones including Carnelian, Banded Agate, Onyx, Lapis Lazuli, Smoky Quartz, Aventurine, Labradorite, Tiger’s-Eye, Sodalite, Goldstone, Malachite, Dyed Purple Agate, Dyed Green Agate, Light Blue Topaz, Blue Lace Agate and much more.

You are also welcome to bring your own cabochon gemstone to set in your ring, providing it has been approved prior to the workshop.

This workshop is suitable for students with Intermediate level skills. You must have completed one of my workshops – preferably Silver Ring Making or have attended jewellery training elsewhere before signing up for this workshop. This workshop is not suitable for complete beginners, you must have some experience soldering and saw piercing.

Written instructions, a gourmet lunch on the full day and morning/afternoon tea are included in your workshop fee.

Duration: 1.5 days (12 hours)

Workshop location: Workshops are held at the Pod Jewellery Studio in Kyneton – a one-hour drive north of Melbourne along the Calder Freeway. Venue address will be provided one week prior to the workshop to those who are enrolled.
