Pamela Gleeson and Nadia Kliendanze use the mediums of acrylic and oil paintings, as well as original prints, to take you on an visual odyssey through the landscapes of the Victorian Central Highlands, and capture the profound beauty and untamed spirit of this unique Australian terrain.

Both artists deeply rooted in the heart of the Central Highlands, a region known for its diverse and ever-changing landscapes.  From the rugged majesty of the Macedon Ranges to the tranquil beauty of Hepburn Springs, and from the dense eucalyptus forests to the sprawling farmlands, this region is a constant source of inspiration.

Amid the rolling hills and whispering gum trees, they found their muse and embarked on a creative journey that seeks to celebrate the land’s intrinsic connection to the human spirit. The collection features a diverse range of artistic expressions, from bold and vibrant acrylic paintings that bring the vivid colours of the Highlands to life, to the subtle and nuanced oil paintings that capture the play of light and shadow on this remarkable terrain.  Each piece invites you to explore the intricate details and hidden treasures of the Central Highlands, encouraging a deeper connection with the environment that surrounds us.

Pam and Nadia hope to convey the idea that the landscape of Central Highlands is more than just a visual spectacle;  it is a living, breathing entity with a history, a soul, and a profound influence on the people who call it home, it is a place where ancient geology, diverse flora and fauna, and the stories of generations intersect and coalesce into a tapestry of natural wonder.

They feel a deep responsibility to not only capture the essence of this land, but also to raise awareness of its fragility and the need for its preservation.  The Central Highlands faces numerous challenges from habitat loss to climate change, and through their art, they hope to inspire a sense of stewardship and appreciation for this precious region.

We invite you to immerse yourself in ‘Spirit of the Highlands’ and embark on a visual journey that transcends the canvas, connecting you to the heart of the Central Highlands. As you explore our work, we hope you will not only see the landscapes but also feel them, hear their stories, and leave with a renewed appreciation for the natural world that surrounds us.
