Marian Rennie Retrospective

A retrospective exhibition of the oil paintings of Marian Rennie
52-56 Mollison Street, Kyneton VIC, Australia

Marian Rennie’s emotional country is as vast as the continent itself. She has absorbed the textures of the worlds that she paints, and the controlled vibrancy of her colours imbues her paintings with their power. Her interpretations of Australian life are deeply sensual and vital.

Marian is deeply immersed in the culture of our country and her work continually builds on the nation’s awareness of itself.

Her celebration of life also reflects an understanding and transcendence of its dark side and the shadow that amplifies the light. The layers to be found in her work are myriad. She reappraises the objects of everyday, and releases from within them a mysterious and ominous element which could otherwise pass unnoticed. She is aware of the joy and satisfaction that can be found in the simple setting of a room or a scene from a window that can project a memory into the past.

Marian’s work provides a powerful retrospective that captures the woof and weave of her artistic contribution to Australia, its bush life and its people.

Meet the artist on January 23 from 2-4pm. All welcome
