Group Exhibition of Jo Carroll and Bev Plowman

Discover abstract expressionist paintings and fine organic ceramic works.
52-56 Mollison Street, Kyneton VIC, Australia

Discover this exhibition that showcases a series of works of abstract expressionist painter Jo Carroll displayed alongside ceramic works by artist Bev Plowman.

Jo Carroll’s abstract, moody art captures the imagination of the viewer, with serene colourscapes that invite you to pause, reflect, re-balance and energise.

Carroll begins each artwork without a plan of composition, creating from nothing and allowing herself to be guided by her own intuitive energy. Clouds, nebulae, water and the glow of light being common themes in her work.

“I love the process of creating atmospheric and ethereal images, taking the viewer into the painting to experience something transcendent and mystical – often beyond the world as we see it.”

Bev Plowman has created many mosaic murals around Melbourne and won National and State awards for her ceramic and mosaic work.

In this exhibition the ceramic works are all made from the finest Limoge porcelain. Works created to be thin, fragile, organic and hand formed. Each sculpture unique. Some organic hand-formed sculptures resembling natural forms, and some small ceramic mosaics.

“I love using beautiful white porcelain to create organic forms that ground our minds to earth and nature”.

The exhibition is on display in the Main Gallery from March 5, 2020 – March 23, 2020. Open 7 days and free to view.
