Design a Miniature Cityscape Workshop

Re-imagine found objects into mixed-media sculptures of mini cities
52-56 Mollison Street, Kyneton VIC, Australia

Construct a miniature cityscape on a tile using found objects in this unique workshop in the Macedon Ranges.

Selecting from the nails, nuts, bolts, screws, bobby pins, and other metal she has collected to help Clean Up Australia, artist NancyDee will show you how to create an imaginative, one-of-a-kind design. If you have your own found treasures, from Kyneton’s streets and footpaths – or from your shed or garage, you are encouraged to bring them in.

Tile background in a variety of colours will be available and the finished artwork will measure either 10x10cm or 15x15cm depending on tile choice.

With all materials and tools provided, including a display stand for your finished artwork, the session will instruct you on the whole process of creating your own artwork. Begin by selecting found materials, ensuring all pieces can integrate with each other, and exploring how to ensure maximum adhesion of found objects (and removal of excess glue).

This workshop is part of the program of talks and courses occurring in-line with the Melbourne Design Week satellite exhibition “From Then to Now – Designing Old to New again” hosted by the artists from Creativity Cluster.

This workshop is part of the Autumn Festival and is Supported by Macedon Ranges Shire Council
