Where Are We?

How to get to the Macedon Ranges

The Macedon Ranges sits right on Melbourne’s doorstep, just 45 minutes north of the CBD and just 30 minutes north of the city’s international airport. Our central location means we are accessible from all points of Victoria.

The Calder Freeway, connecting Bendigo and Melbourne, runs through the spine of the Macedon Ranges. Major connecting roads offer easy access to our towns from the Hume Freeway, Western Freeway, Tullamarine Freeway and Melbourne’s international airport.

If travelling from Melbourne, follow the Citylink signs ‘to Bendigo via the Tullamarine Freeway’.  An E-tag is required to pass through the Citylink tollway system. Car hire companies will provide E-tags in their arrangements or call Citylink on 13 26 29 to arrange a day pass.

Follow the signs to Bendigo until you reach Gisborne, then move off the freeway and into a world of relaxation and natural beauty.

V/Line’s fast-rail service from Melbourne to Bendigo stops at Clarkefield, Riddells Creek, Gisborne, Macedon, Woodend, Kyneton and Malmsbury.

V/Line has an app to help you stay up-to-date with service information and timetables and plan your journey in advance. Bikes can be carried free of charge but only if space is available and during off-peak times. For more information call 1800 800 007 or visit vline.com.au
