Since 1999, Holgate Brewhouse has been producing genuine craft beer from the village of Woodend in Victoria. Brewed, bottled and kegged right here, our beers come straight to you from our family-owned brewery installed in the beautiful 19th century red-brick Hotel in Woodend.

Step in from the main street of Woodend and immerse yourself in the warmth and spirit of a true local. Take time to unwind in an historic country corner pub, where you can enjoy fine restaurant cuisine and award-winning craft beer brewed on site and available on tap. At Holgate Brewhouse, we pride ourselves in being a non-gaming venue. Relax with friends and family in a welcoming, friendly atmosphere – free from bleeps, blips and garish screens. Listen to some cool background music. Kick back and explore the flavours of Holgate’s masterful range of ales and lagers. Or try a superb wine from the many local Macedon Ranges wineries.

Tuck into a great value pub meal at the bar, or settle in and enjoy the flavours and local produce of our popular restaurant menu. Claim your favourite spot in the sunny dining room, classic main bar, snug parlour bar, or cosy lounge. In the summer, you can gaze out to the village clock tower from our shady outside courtyard. And in the depths of a Woodend winter, there’s five log fires to keep you toasty! At Holgate Brewhouse we pride ourselves on providing a great dining experience – simple food prepared perfectly, in a stylish yet relaxed restaurant setting, with friendly and attentive service.

Our modern Australian menu is designed and prepared in the hotel kitchen by a team of excellent chefs under the keen eye of Restaurateur Natasha Holgate.

We encourage our guests to have fun matching beer and food. All main meals come with a suggested Holgate beer to complement your dining experience. And our chefs have created many of the dishes on the menu around distinctive beer flavours – for example, our popular Beer Bread and awesome Dark Ale & Beef Pie.

All our desserts are conceived and made in-house, so it’s worth leaving a little bit of room!

You can even stay a night or two in one of our beautifully refurbished guestrooms.
