Getting HereYou can be in the Macedon Ranges region quicker than you think. Less than an hour from Melbourne getting here is easy....naturally.
Melbourne International Airport is only a 30 minute drive from Gisborne via Sunbury, and from Gisborne, the Macedon Ranges region spreads northward.
The Calder Freeway, connecting Bendigo and Melbourne, is the main arterial running through the Macedon Ranges, running north and south. If travelling from Melbourne, follow the Citylink signs 'to Bendigo via the Tullamarine Freeway'. An E-tag is required to pass through the Citylink tollway system. Car hire companies will provide E-tags in their arrangements or call Citylink on 13 26 29 to arrange a day pass. From Melbourne's Tullamarine Airport, the Calder Freeway is a continuation of the Tullamarine Freeway, and is not subject to tolls. Follow the signs to Bendigo until you reach Gisborne, then move off the freeway and into a world of relaxation and natural beauty. Major arterial roads connect the Macedon Ranges with the Hume Freeway and Western Freeway, making access to other regions very easy. The V/Line fast rail network also passes through the Macedon Ranges stopping at Clarkfield, Riddells Creek, New Gisborne, Macedon, Woodend, Kyneton and Malmsbury on the Melbourne-Bendigo line. Car hire is available at the airport and through various companies located in most major cities. |
