Kyneton Daffodil and Arts Festival2-12 September 2010 A carnival atmosphere greets visitors to Kyneton when the Daffodil & Arts Festival celebrates spring with daffodils and entertainment.
With the famous Golden Mile of daffodils at the entry to the town, the streets of Kyneton are decorated with barrows of daffodils. Decorated shop windows add to the festivities. Notable gardens open during the Festival.
The Daffodil Art Prize opens the Festival on September 2nd and adds to other art and photography exhibitions throughout the town.
Ferret Racing, town-wide sidewalk sale and buskers provide fun on the first Saturday of the festival providing great shopping throughout the town. A visit to Piper Street is a must.
Visitors return to enjoy traditional favourites - the Festival of One Act Plays, Spring Flower Show and Kyneton Antique Fair. A great midweek community concert with well known artists and other musical events entertain the visitors and the community.
Other activities include the Old Time Ball, Paramoor Fayre, Art and Craft Show and Kyneton Farmers and CWA Craft Markets, along with a Fun Run and a cycle challenge, and for horseracing enthusiasts there is a meeting at Kyneton Race Course featuring the Daffodil & Arts Handicap.
The Festival winds up with the Grand Parade and Street Fair on Sunday 12th September.
