SPRING

There is a buzz in the air as the local scene explodes with events and festivals.

Spring is a wonderful season in the Macedon Ranges.

The vines are bursting with buds, the gardens are blooming with flowers, and the birds and animals emerge from their winter hiatus.

Daffodils are the talk of Kyneton, with the Daffodil and Arts Festival in September to welcome in the season.

The Woodend Teddy Bear Show is held in October, the Malmsbury Fayre is a popular event in November, and the Kyneton Cup race meeting – one of the biggest in regional Victoria – is held at the Kyneton Racecourse in November, the day after the Melbourne Cup.

Farmers prepare for the agricultural showing season, there’s music in the air around the region, and the artists unveil their winter work.

The Open Gardens of Mt Macedon come out of the winter dormancy in an explosion of colour, while the Rare Plant Fair is a treasure trove for the gardening enthusiast.

The wine makers get together and open their doors for the week of the Budburst Festival, bringing the best of Macedon Ranges wine and food together in a range of epicurean events.
