Run the Rock

Run the Rock

Saturday 21 April 2012

Distance: 5km run/walk and 10km run

Hanging Rock, best known across Australia as the setting for a much loved movie and known locally for tis twice annual picnic race meetings, is just 75 kilometres or less than one hour's drive from the heart of Melbourne on the Calder Freeway.

The quiet country roads and rural land around the famous Hanging Rock provide a picturesque setting for a run or walk. You will start and finish on the historic Hanging Rock racecourse in full view of Mount Macedon.

The 5km run/walk course has a couple of minor hills while the 10km course is basically two laps of the 5km course plus a lap around the base of Hanging Rock.
